Bee sleeping on Gaillardia aristata - Andrena

Bee sleeping on Gaillardia aristata - Andrena
Rocky Mountain National Park, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
July 22, 2013
Size: BL ~ 9.5 mm
In a series of several photos of a bee sleeping in Gaillardia aristata, this is the last one. It shows the whole bee the best. Here, the bee is awake and stretching, almost ready to take off. The bee was found at the entrance to Wild Basin, RMNP at about 83oo' elevation. I will also post a dorsal with wing venation and a face.

Andrena male subgenus Callandrena sensu lato
Thank you so much, Dr. Ascher, for this identification. Genus Andrena is such a diverse genus and I am delighted to get this handsome male to a subgenus. Your help is much appreciated.
