Black-tipped Darner - Aeshna tuberculifera - female

Black-tipped Darner - Aeshna tuberculifera - Female
Coventry, Kent County, Rhode Island, USA
October 2, 2006
Size: 3"
I photographed this Darner today along the edge of a corn field. My guess is a Black-tipped Darner by the lateral stripes but I'm not sure. I checked the Darner ID page and I'm still not sure. Also attached is an image of the terminal appendage.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Michelle

Black-tipped is right
The straight, blue-green stripes are a good field mark.

Thank you!
Thank you Cliff. Now let's see if I can figure out how to move this to the right page.

Regards, Michelle
