"bald faced" caterpillar - Trichiosoma
Woolwich, Sagadahoc County, Maine, USA
July 22, 2013
Size: about 1.25"
"Bald faced" light green Caterpillar with 6 legs and cute "hands". Curled up like a fiddle leaf fig when touched. When I tried to get it off the paper bag it had crawled on - I realized it had a very strong grip! I thought I would hurt the little guy/gal. Got it onto a stick where it stayed motionless for over an hour. I've never seen one of these before (and I'm always looking for bugs).
