In a puddle near the step banks of Laguna Del Perro. I searched BG but, as I was searching noticed that the Pronotum doesn't look typical - help...

Type here. This species is described from NM. The type is a female however.

If you have the specimen handy please check the tarsal claws for serrations (combed claws). If they are combed, this is Aptopus. There are a couple slender species like this (I've seen one of them from AZ).
