Nice shot! I agree on the genus. Looks similar to this image:



The Bee-fly expert noted that the San Gabriel mountains were the southern edge of the range of A. albofasciatus.

I have so many bad photos of the dark-bodies bee flies that this one looks great by comparison. Not so compared to Hartmut's. Those eyes!
