Moved to Crambus cyrilellus
Moved from Crambus leuconotus.

Tentative ID per Hugh McGuinness' comments below. This image is shown at MPG and will be moved to C. cyrilellus there as well.

Not cyrilellus
This is not cyrilellus, but I don't know whether it is leuconotus b/c I can't find any reference material on leuconotus. Iwill say that I don not recognize this as any of the AZ Crambus.

I am retracting my previous statement on this moth. Last March I had not seen leuconotus, I may not have correctly understood cyrilellus, and I certainly didn't look at this carefully enough. This is not C. leuconotus b/c that species has a white notum (as well as a white frons and labial palps), as the name implies. This moth does not. This photo is very hard to evaluate b/c the FW in view is overlapped by the one on the far side of the moth. As a result, several characters are obscured/not visible. My guess is that this moth is actually C. cyrilellus, although I'll say that tentatively b/c I can't see very much of the FW.

Moved from Crambus.

5371 - Crambus leuconotus [T]
I sent the photo to Brian Scholtens who responded: "This looks closest to Crambus leuconotus, but it could also be cyrilellus [5373]. I don't think I can really tell them apart without dissection." I will show this marked [T] for tentative under 5371 at MPG. Fine photo.

Something in...
...Crambus but you will have to wait for the experts for species level identification. While waiting on the experts, take a look at a few species:

C. rickseckerellus

Common Grass-veneer (C. praefectellus)

Leach's Grass-veneer (C. leachellus)
