Moth found in Burke Virginia, morning, 28 July 2013, 9:30 AM - Hyles lineata
Burke, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
July 28, 2013
Size: approx. 3 inches long

Hyles lineata
Though the image is quite blurry, I decided not to frass it because the only other VA record for this species is from October and is a larval sighting. I made this image non-representative however, so it will only show up when someone specifically looks for it.

Ryan:
Thank you for identifying it; I have never seen in before in my back yard and thought it was very unique. I have a better picture of it but can't seem to upload it onto the page.

Ted Johnson
