Callippe or coronis?

S. callippe for sure
though pale spots below are rounder than average.

Not sure which subspecies fits this area best; perhaps ssp. shasta?

Moved from Greater Fritillaries.

Thanks. S. callippe in the Trinities used to be considered rupestris (see Shapiro et al. (1979, p. 95) and Hammond (1985, p. 207)), but I'm not sure how the new northern California subspecies (shasta and hagemani) affected that. Time to track down a copy of Systematics of Western North American Butterflies...
