Explanation of Names
The specific epithet is for the Curlew National Grasslands where the holotype was collected. (2)
Numbers
The genus Eucosma includes more than 168 species in America north of Mexico. (3)
Size
Wright (2007) listed the forewing length. (2)
♂ 6.6–12.6 mm. (n=43) 43 specimens examined.
♀ 10.5–13.2 mm. (n=16)
Identification
The forewing is white with variable orange-brown to blackish-brown markings that can usually be distinguished from the two similar species listed below. The northern population are usually the lighter orange-brown color. (2)
Range
California and Nevada to Utah.
Holotype ♀ Idaho, Oneida Co., Curlew National Grassland, 4 mi. ENE of Holbrook, 25 July 2003, D.J. Wright. (2)
Season
Wright (2007) reported June to September flight. (2)
