Probably flukei
This is probably Orthonevra flukei like the others. A face shot is useful in this genus because the face may be nearly bare, hairy, or scaled depending on species.

i am far, far from fly knowledgeable ... but perhaps a soldier fly. i could very well be wrong, i am commenting in large part to see what it is when someone who knows comes along.

I've seen those eyes somewhere, but I don't think on a syrphid. Antennae and body shape do look like soldier fly, tho I didn't see anything in Bug Guide that matched. However, comments help attract more comments, so we'll see what shakes out.
