Cat-faced Spiders - Araneus gemmoides - male - female

Cat-faced Spiders - Araneus gemmoides - Male Female
Thompson Falls, Sanders County, Montana, USA
August 13, 2006
For the cat face, look at the front of the abdomen on the female (left). The white markings make the cat's nose and mouth. The two black indentations make the eyes, and the humps on the spider make the cat ears. See it?
