Lace Bugs on beech leaves - Corythucha pallipes

Size: 3.5mm
There were hundreds of these on the undersides of beech tree leaves.

Genus Corythucha for sure
Given the host plant reference and several matching morphological characters and wing markings, these are probably the species Corythucha pallipes. Their favorite hosts are Betula spp.(beech) trees.

Found on both tree genera?
Beech is Fagus; birch is Betula. Photos of C. pallipes here are named the birch lace bug. The photo by Susan Ellis on that page looks considerably different than the others, so I'm wondering about its ID.

beech and birch clarification
Robin, you are absolutely right. When I read the host plat, I thought of birch (Betula sp.)and "read" birch because this is the preferred host of this lace bug, I personally have never seen them on beech, but they have been recorded on beech (Fagus grandifolia)too. Thus, the lace bug ID is still correct.
