Size: about 1/4 inch
This caterpillar was found on Milkweed in my butterfly garden. There were also a few Monarch caterpillars on this same plant. It was taken at 5:30pm.

Syrphid Larvae
They are likely feeding on the oleander aphids present on the plant.

Here are some examples of such larvae.

Thank you so much. We actually brought them in to "save" them. Haha. I guess they will not turn into some amazingly lovely butterfly!! :-(
