Autumn Meadowhawk... but the tail? - Perithemis tenera

Autumn Meadowhawk... but the tail? - Perithemis tenera
Ballwin, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA
July 28, 2011
Color-wise, the closest Dragonfly I can find is the Autumn Meadowhawk, but the tail looks quite different. While I have a clearer close-up, not seen here is the white-ish face similar in look to the eyes.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Guessing it was very small??
Looks to us like a teneral male Perithemis

Thanks!
Not knowing much about dragonflies, I tried to match color first, incorrectly guessing the tail might have just been in development and immature.

I took the photo two years ago and don't remember the exact size, but given the detail in the leaf and EXIF camera info, your ID seems far more accurate than mine.

I wish I had a better photo of the abdomen.

Doesn't look like it to me
I think I see numerous markings on top of the abdomen, which the Autumn Meadowhawk lacks.
