Bug-eyed fly - Scathophaga stercoraria

Bug-eyed fly - Scathophaga stercoraria
Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA

This one must like the late season - first time I recall seeing it. Feasting at chrysanthemum flowers.

Dung fly
This one has all the aspects of a dung fly (Scathophagidae) grooming itself: akward position of the head and fore legs. Often when grooming (if that is the corect word, English is not my first language) the head moves around, sometimes it is held even upside-down.
