This does not look to have ths same shape as the other silver Argiope listed in bug guide.
this one VERY silver though.

The silver spider
I saw this exact spider today and it took along time to identify it until I saw this picture. Although, when I looked up Silver Argiope the pictures didn't look like this one. Could this spider actually be a different one?

a banded Argiope that was painted silver. Nice work!

But really, do you think a silver argiope?
There were a few of these in the neighbors barn ( I have a few more pictures of another ) and definitely no paint around. LOL. here is a close up of

Banded Garden Spider
After some research I believe this is not a silver argiope but a mature female banded garden spider ~ Argiope trifasciata. I have found some of these to have silver hair covering the cephalothorax and along the sides of the abdomen. Jon W..
