Anisotropic stigma

We have several species of Anisota in NC
We have Anisota stigma, A. senatoria, A. virginiensis in NC.
Refer to the guides for details. The moth above is not A. stigma.

You have Anisota stigma, A. senatoria and A. virginiensis in e. TX.
However, the sparse irregular black flecks on the forewings makes me think
A. senatoria (female)
or
A. virginiensis ssp. discolor
. The females of both senatoria and virginiensis (VERY similar in color and appearance) usually have more purplish coloration and appear much less speckled, orangish & bulky than A. stigma. And yes...these can be hard to id.
