Grotella margueritaria
has only been collected in the desert regions of Big Bend National Park in Texas.

Adults have been collected in August, September and October.

The larval host plant listed at Hosts Database, Natural History Museum is
Anulocaulis leiosolenus
(Nyctaginaceae).
