Unknown Fly - Chalcosyrphus piger - female

Unknown Fly - Chalcosyrphus piger - Female
Diamond Lake / Cascade Mts., Douglas County, Oregon, USA
August 6, 2013
Size: medium to large for a fly
Fly was feeding on yarrow. It appears to be mimicking a sawfly (?) I submitted recently. See item # 812211. I am very curious what type of fly this is.

Looks like Chalcosyrphus piger to me.
Beautiful shot!

Thank you
Thank You, Hartmut! I hadn't found a black and red flower fly. Now I know. I find the mimics fascinating.
