This moth's cocoon was found on 7/25/2013 attached to and hidden within the concave surface of an agave leaf near Florida Station, Santa Rita Experimental Range during Bugguide Gathering 2013. I taped it to a much smaller agave leaf and placed it in an aquarium as shown. It eclosed 6 days later on 7/31/2013, and was found as pictured with its wings fully deployed. The cited wingspan is as (currently) spread for display.
