Egg-backed Bee - Melissodes - Male

I'm posting three photos taken in short succession, but not all of the same individual. Are these in genus Megachile? Any ideas about these apparent eggs on the thorax?

It is not a Megachile, I would say Mellisodes or simliar. Cant tell what those dots are, either pollen or mites would be my guess.
