I startled this pair as I hiked up a steep trail and they flew off together. I noted where they landed and followed, not sure what I was following

White-belted Ringtails
Erpetogomphus compositus. Really nice shot.

Clubtails
In a mating "wheel." The male (top) clasps behind the female's head while she hangs on to his abdomen and brings her abdomen up, etc. Very distinctive dorsal pattern. Should be an easy ID for for someone in the know about Western dragonflies. Great pic!

just wanted to say this is a great photo - photographing dragonflies is very frustrating if I remember correctly.
