Spilosoma dubia?

I did find the photo in Wagner, just an hour ago, thanks for the reminder. The pattern looks good to me. Setae must be variable in colour. Any objections to my moving this?

What about Dubious Tiger Moth (Spilosoma dubia)?

I found just one photo of the caterpillar online (MPG) - think it could be a match?

The ascending length of the setae to the rear of the caterpillar doesn't seem right for Haploa, and the setae look genereally too full and long. I'll have to revisit the site and look for other caterpillars and hopefully find the adults, too.

I am afraid not. It was on the move at a fast clip and it got away from me before I was ready to click the shutter.
