I found a pupa while digging around and I knew it was alive because it wiggled on contact. I kept it in a small, aerated container with moist soil at room temperature and forgot to ever photograph it. 5 days later (today), I woke up to find that it had hatched into a moth. Fortunately, its wings seemed okay despite the rather small container. I took a bunch of pictures, then I took some pictures of the empty pupa, then I brought the moth back to where I found it and released it. I saw its first-ever flight and I'm so proud of my adoptive (stolen) moth child. Now I've been trying to ID it all afternoon and I'm pretty sure it's Peridroma saucia.
I'd like a second opinion on the ID before putting it in the guide. I'll upload a couple more pictures of the specimen for clarity. Thanks!A dorsal photo of the moth that hatched from the pupa I dug up.
