The Santa Cruz river outing

The Santa Cruz river outing
Santa Cruz River, Amado-Montosa Road, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
July 26, 2013
We were going to Montosa Canyon that day, but Margarethe wasn't sure we could ford the river in the Prius. So we mooched a ride with Robyn and got to spend the day with her - which was grand! We stopped just east of Amado in the Santa Cruz River bed to hunt for bugs. It turned out the river was perfectly dry!

Sorry
you had to be a bit squeezed in the back, Jane -- but we had fun! Bet the river is even drier now -- looks like the monsoon has practically stopped.

More rain since then
at least down there.

Not a problem!
Once I figured out the proper orientation it was fine :-) We had a great time, hope we can get together again some time. Must say, I had pictured a different kind of monsoon...now I know the southwest definition!
