Photographed among cattails on the north bank of the North Saskatchewan River, at the edge of town. The critter disappeared before I could get a photo showing its underwings.

Looks like - Ancyloxypha numitor
This species has been found in SE Saskatchewan.
Your find would seem to represent a range extension.
