Which Fritillary? - Speyeria zerene - Female
Hermit's Trail, Montrose County, Colorado, USA
August 6, 2013

pretty sure now that it is S. zerene sinope

Either Speyeria zerene or. S. coronis - female
Difficult to be positive just seeing the upper side alone, but the proportions make me think more likely it is S. zerene. I don't know the specific location, and knowing elevation and habitat might help too (S. coronis tends to favor somewhat warmer places than S. zerene.)

Moved from ID Request.

Thanks.
Elevation was probably about 7500'. Habitat was oak and sage scrubland near a juniper forest.

Not an expert

Aphrodite Fritillary - Speyeria aphrodite
