Size: ~18mm
Hop Canyon Trail 25, found under a rock. Had this beetle alive for over 3 days thinking the red might fade but, it did not.

Eleodes longicollis, of the form described as E. haydeni - if you consider that a valid species.

Specimens from close to the 4-corners region tend to keep that red stripe down the elytral suture.
