Identification
Apical section of M (after bend) straight. Abdomen blueish to greenish. Calypters dark(1)
Mid tibiae usually with 1 distinct medial anterodorsal seta, but sometimes with 1-2 shorter setae around.
Pruinescence on abdomen supposed to be thinner than in B. vulgaris.
Range
native to, and widespread across the Palaearctic, adventive in NA (recorded from New Hampshire and Massachusetts)(1)(2)
