Bug I can't find - Murgantia histrionica

Bug I can't find - Murgantia histrionica
Drexel Hill, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA
October 9, 2006
Size: About 3/4 inch & 1/4 inch
I found this fellow when photographing butterflies in my garden. I am not very experienced on your site (have found most of my butterflies and moths) but put in black, orange and white, added beetle, tried yellow and red and can find nothing that looks like these bugs. I made the assumption that one is male and one female. They are in groups and are on sunflower, pachysandra(sp?) and choreposis leaves. The smaller ones are in various sizes up to about 1/2 inch.

Reminds us of
Murgantia histrionica - Harlequin Bug, images in the guide here. One is an adult and one is a nymph.

Yep, that's it.
Saw some today in California after an absence of several months. It's odd how often the same insects seem to pop up in different parts of the country at the same time.
