Is this a member of the genera Phaneropterinae, false katydids? It or others like it have been in my backyard in some of my plants for several months.

The Eyes Have It...
...and put me enough in mind of a Fork-tailed Katydid that I'm rather inclined to agree that it's one of the false katydids all right...just not sure of which species! Your comment about these insects being on your plants in your garden also made me think about the person over at the whatsthatbug site who complained about having to chase the darn Fork-tailed Katydids off her rose bushes, which is admittedly an even MORE feeble reason for me to think this is a false katydid, but...there you go...

ok I botched that one...sorry
ok I botched that one...sorry....I forgot to check the state...hopefully someone else can do a better job for you :)
