Dr John- thank you for having identified the wasp family as " Mutillidae" The eye appears to be "emariginated compound", as of the Timulla dubitata" species. Might this male be of the genus "Timulla"? Note image # 8359. Thanks.

Dr John- thank you for this identification as a "Velvet Ants" of the Mutillidae Wasp family. This is my first male locate and digital capture. I wish the images had been sharper. It was very windy and between showers. I have been observing females darting about our sandy soil here on Skidaway, an inner barrier Georgia island.
