Nicentrus saccharinus Marshall
Moved from Apostasimerini. From the two specimens Efram sent me, this easily keys to Nicentrus in (1). Presumably this introduced species, identical to Mike's photos. I haven't been able to find a working link for Woodruff's 1972b reference.

i really like Nicentrus saccharinus for this one
Moved from ID Request.

Hmm
Could this be a female of the weevil I posted a few days ago with the 2 projections below the head?
What are the odds of there being 3 different species of weevil in a 100 sq. foot area, and all the species are like 2-3 mm?

the odds are quite high...
i get at least 30 weevil spp. in that size range at my porch lights alone in a densely populated suburban area with little wild vegetation --and most weevils do not come to lights

Wow
Wish it was that easy to collect different wasp sp.

a few acres of diverse vegetation/habitats...
...could easily yield a couple of hundred weevil spp. over the years in temperate zone
