Please help with the ID of this bug - Myrmeleon
Perris, California, USA

Size: 1/4 inch approx
We recently moved to this area and found this bug,one of 100's in our yard. We noticed these strange holes in an area of the yard and after watching for a few minutes noticed puffs of dirt coming from the middle,( I will add a photo of the holes ). They seem to be most active in the afternoon. I have never seen anything like this before and have looked everywhere I know to try and find out what the heck these little things are! Any help with this would be great, Thank you!

Thank you very much!
I was able to find more information on these little bug's and don't have to exterminate them:)
