Carabidae larva - Chlaenius

Carabidae larva - Chlaenius
Laval, Laval County, Quebec, Canada
August 20, 2013
A ground beetle larva. I suspect it to be an Elaphrus larva. I've keep it and I hope to be able to get the adult. I found it aside a pool of stagnant water. When I've seen it, it tried to run away by walking on the water (it's finaly what attract my attention).

Thanks!
Great, thanks for the identification!

Maybe
Unfortunatly, the larvae did not survived; but I've keep it in alcohol, and one of these days I'll buy the Bousquet's book with a key for larvae.
