Caterpillar - Schinia gaurae

Caterpillar - Schinia gaurae
Sycamore Canyon, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
July 27, 2013
Found just past parking area, no idea what it was feeding on

Moved from Moths.

We didn't say it wasn't Schinia gaurae
we said we don't know what kind of things could be found in Arizona

Beautiful creature
Can't wait to see the results of Wagner's studies on the southwestern caterpillars. If we had seen this here in Illinois, we would have said Schinia gaura, but we are definitely out of our element there. But we do have some posted to BugGuide with that tentative ID.

Why not Schinia gaura?
Yea, what makes this not Schinia gaura?

why wouldnt it be that?
gaura is all over az and there are records in bg for tuscon for the moth
