Psocid - Xanthocaecilius quillayute

Psocid - Xanthocaecilius quillayute
Dixville, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
October 10, 2006
Size: 3.5mm

Thanks Philip
I found this one on the rocks along a woodland stream in far northern NH.

Xanthocaecilius quillayute
I have just discovered how to identify this species. Based on the colour of the body and wings (honey yellow) along with venation this would be from the Family Caeciliusidae. I recently read a description from the genus Xanthocaecilius that goes as follows "eyes of living or freshly preserved specimens pale green, wings dusky with distinct pattern of dark and pale veins Xanthocaecilius quillayute". A very similar species X. sommermanae has yellow eyes but clear wings. Nice find I have never seen one alive before.
