Does 1.5 inches include wings?
????
Based on location (c. Florida)....then compare the following:
If it is a Diceroprocta, then it's
D. olympusa
!
But does look a lot like
resonans
??? ... but size is off????
Note the "Z"

Large Cicada - Tibicen resonans
Based on the link provided, I'm about 99.9% sure that it is Large Cicada - Tibicen resonans. Those images look like what I see here.
Thanks for the info!

Cicada
Yes; 1.5" includes wings. That may be a little closer to 1.25" :-)
Thanks for the info!

Hmmmm
T. resonans is big (usually >2" incl. wings, even up to slightly less than 3") + has lighter eyes (not always evident in the dark or near artificial lights)
D. olympusa is small and usu. ~1.5 +/- in total length incl. wings.
The only thing that bugs me - no pun intended - are the pruinosity patterns which are similar to resonans.
consider ... window screen is usu. ~15 to 17 squares/inch ... so, this guy looks less than 2"

It's a species of cicada.
...I'll just ask Bill to ID it for me. But it has the shape/patterning of a Tibicen species. It might be the salt marsh, I'm not very familiar with many of the extreme southern cicada species.
