Florida moth? - Eudryas grata

Florida moth? - Eudryas grata
Deland, (I think), Florida, USA
December 31, 1969
Size: approx. 2.5 " long,
This bug is probably in this guide somewhere, but I didn't really know where to look.
The legs are amazing, with all that "fur"! He was on a window, it was raining on & off, there were all kinds of bugs in this area!

I'm afraid I disagree with you all. I would say ] because of the distinct double circle midway and close to the costa.

I agree with you

Genus Eudryas?
Well, I'm on my old laptop, right now, and the tiny LCD screen isn't the best in the world, but, from what I can make out, it's either a Pearly Wood-Nymph - Hodges#9299 (Eudryas unio) (most likely, that's it. It's sometimes called, "the bird poop moth") or a Beautiful Wood-Nymph - Hodges#9301 (Eudryas grata).

Give them a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks Bill, I think the 930
Thanks Bill,
I think the 9301 - Eudryas grata is the closest, (although some of the images are not the same).
I do like the name Bird Poop Moth the best though!
