Vinemina opacaria
Charles Melton has suggested here that this may Vinemina opacaria. Can you give an approximation of size? Ersephila grandipennis is much larger, FW: ~25 mm vs. ~15 mm for V. opacaria. In relation to the sheet this looks similar in size to your geometer image here taken at the same time which would seem to indicate a FW closer to 15 mm. The flight periods are also different. E. grandipennis is Jan. to early April.

 
Size
I think the geometrid is from a different sheet, but the thread count is probably similar. Based on photos of familiar bugs from the same sheet, I think you're right that this individual's FW is closer to 15 mm than to 25.
