Phidippus comatus female from pear trap. - Phidippus comatus - Female

Caught in a trap in Asian pears. P. comatus is widespread in Fresno County but less common than P. johnsoni and P. audax. I have seen adults starting in mid-July. They overwinter, and lay eggs in about April.

So much excellent information gets buried with images here on bugguide. This is some very good info that you shared about this species. There is still so much to learn about the ecology of so many species of Phidippus. Thank you, Devin.
