Caterpillar - bright white with three black

Caterpillar - bright white with three black "lashes" - Apatelodes torrefacta
Baton Rouge, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 24, 2013
Size: About 1.5 inches
Found on a stone trail at the edge of the swamp.
Box elder was one several trees in the immediate vicinity.
Thought it was an American Dagger Moth Caterpillar.
Based on David Wagner, page 324.
But this one does not have a "shinny black head".
(See second image.)

Two votes for Apatelodes torrefacta
And that sure looks to be the one.
Glad to see that it likes maple too, because we put it on a box elder.

Apatelodes torrefacta?

Hmmm
What about a spotted apatelodes (Apatelodes torrefacta)?
