Caterpillar - bright white with three black "lashes" - Apatelodes torrefacta Baton Rouge, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA August 24, 2013 Size: About 1.5 inches
Found on a stone trail at the edge of the swamp.
Box elder was one several trees in the immediate vicinity.
Thought it was an American Dagger Moth Caterpillar.
Based on David Wagner, page 324.
But this one does not have a "shinny black head".
