On goldenbush. Yarrow Melanoplus? No exuvia found so not sure if this is still darkening or if it's just very light.

correct - adult Melanoplus yarrowii
The coloring is probably fully developed. Might go darker if the weather gets cold, but that is different from color changing right after molting.

Though I can't see the end of the abdomen clearly, I'm pretty sure based on proportions that it is female.
