TAWNY CRESCENT - Phyciodes batesii - female

TAWNY CRESCENT - Phyciodes batesii - Female
badlands a few km NE of Avonlea, SK, Saskatchewan, Canada
August 9, 2013
A Lepidopterist friend of mine has messaged me: "Looking at my "Butterflies Of Canada" by Layberry, Hall and Prefontaine, I would say this is actually a Pearl Crescent. Northern Pearl is another possibility, but this one matches the "regular" Pearl better!

Phaon Cres isn't in that book - Kaufman's "Fly" FG shows it more in the southern U.S. Field Cres in western States, B.C. and western AB."

looks like a female Phyciodes batesii
Moved from Pearl Crescent.
