This moth was found one morning at Plainsboro Preserve, one of the sanctuaries of the New Jersey Audubon Society. The lights stay on all night and attract a good assortment of moths. Surrounding habitats include farmland, marsh, and forest, with a large lake as well.

Presence of a basal line on the hindwing indicates that this is adipaloides rather than elealis.
