Wasp with prey - Auplopus architectus - female

Wasp with prey - Auplopus architectus - Female
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
August 17, 2013
Found on the deck around 10 AM on a sunny day. It was scooting around every which way carrying a paralyzed spider (Clubiona lutescens). Despite the load, it was able to fly to some extent, though never more than a few meters. I followed it around from a distance for several minutes and eventually managed to get close enough to get some photos.
