Pink-Striped Willow Spanworm - Cabera variolaria

Pink-Striped Willow Spanworm - Cabera variolaria
Town of Baileys Harbor, Hidden Corners Sanctuary, Door County, Wisconsin, USA
July 20, 2006
Adult came to night light. ID was made by examining the specimen that was sent to Madison, WI.

Wow
what a visually striking photo - poster ready!

Ditto
That is a real beauty.

Hate to be a wet blanket
but this photo shows up blue with blue fringes on my monitor. My monitor is calibrated and it seems to show realistic colors, thus I don't believe the problem is with me.
variolaria is a shining white moth with tiny grey flecks on the wing. I'm not questioning the ID just the color of the moth.

Colors vary
Sorry, Tony! That's what the camera captured. It was taken outside, no flash or artifical lighting.
