looks similar to a ladybug but a clear shell extends over edges sort of, but has wings like one, body like one... found several yesterday all together when on a ladybug hunt..

tortoise beetle
looks like the golden tortoise beetle, Charidotella sexpunctata.

I would say that is what it is, although it has black legs instead of the yellow!
