Myrmex egregius (Casey)

I have checked the collection and this is not M. ulkei but rather is Myrmex egregius (Casey 1892). We have a number of specimens in the collection from Arizona. It is very similar to M. arizonicus which is found on mistletoes but the femoral tooth is larger in M. egregius (the largest I have seen in the genus) and the eyes are larger and closer together. You can see both characters clearly in the photo. Myrmex ulkei is a different thing with dense radiate-pectinate scales covering the elytra. We have a few from Baja and I'll try to get a photo uploaded in the next couple of days so you can see the differences.
